Bariatric Surgery

What types of bariatric surgery do you offer?

We offer three main procedures — Sleeve Gastrectomy, Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB), and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RNY) — plus revisional surgery for patients who’ve had previous operations that failed or caused complications. All surgeries are performed by Prof. Mehmet Tahir Oruc in accredited hospitals with intensive-care support.

How do I know which procedure is right for me?

Your suitability depends on your medical history, BMI, and goals. During your consultation, Rachel and our medical team will review your results and recommend the safest and most effective option.

Is the surgery performed in a clinic or hospital?

Always in a fully equipped hospital — never in a clinic setting. Patients stay for 4–5 nights under full medical supervision.

How long will I stay in Turkey after surgery?

Most patients remain in hospital for five nights and fly home on Day 6 after full discharge, diet support, and recovery checks.

What does the package include?

Packages include pre-operative tests (bloods, ECG, ultrasound, endoscopy if required), hospital stay, surgeon and anaesthetist fees, medications, transfers, and UK aftercare via WhatsApp and follow-up appointments.

Will I be able to eat normally again?

Yes — but gradually. You’ll follow our staged post-surgery eating plan, progressing from liquids to solids over six weeks. Our goal is food freedom and balance, not restriction.

What are the possible risks or complications?

All surgery carries risk, but hospital-based care reduces it significantly. Possible issues include bleeding, leakage, or nutritional deficiencies. We provide full education on early signs and management.

Do I need vitamin supplements after surgery?

Yes. Lifelong supplementation is essential. Our UK aftercare team will review your blood results and advise on your ideal supplement plan.

What aftercare do you provide once I return home?

You’ll have lifetime WhatsApp support, wound and blood reviews, diet guidance, and optional nurse or GP consultations through our UK team.

How soon can I return to work or normal activities?

Light activity in one week, office work in two, and heavier exercise after four to six weeks. Always follow your surgeon’s advice.

Can I have surgery if I’ve had a gastric band or bypass before?

Yes. Revisional procedures are a key area of expertise, including safe conversions from band to sleeve or bypass, and RNY to MGB.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

On average, patients lose 60–80 % of excess weight in the first 12–18 months. Our goal is long-term weight stability, not short-term loss.

Post Weight Loss Plastic Surgery

When is the right time to have plastic surgery after weight loss?

Once your weight has been stable for at least six months — ideally twelve — to ensure the best contour and healing.

Which plastic surgeries do you offer?

We perform Extended and Fleur-de-Lis Tummy Tucks, Arm Lifts, Thigh Lifts, Breast Lifts or Reductions (with or without implants), and full 360° Body Lifts. All operations are carried out by Dr. Necmettin Tutuncu in accredited hospitals.

How long will I need to stay in hospital?

Usually three to five nights, depending on the number of areas treated. All patients receive inpatient care, drains, garments, and wound checks.

Can I combine multiple areas in one operation?

Yes, when it’s medically safe. Combination surgery is carefully planned to limit blood loss and anaesthetic time.

What are the scars like?

Scars are positioned discreetly and fade gradually over 6–12 months. We provide full scar-care and optional laser follow-up.

How long is recovery and when can I fly home?

Most patients fly home 7–10 days after surgery. Compression garments are worn for 4–6 weeks, with no heavy lifting for six weeks.

Is it painful?

You’ll receive strong pain relief during your hospital stay. Most patients describe mild discomfort rather than pain and are encouraged to walk the next day.

How much does it cost?

Costs depend on the number of areas, complexity, and hospital time. All quotes are transparent and inclusive — no hidden extras.

What’s included in my package?

Consultation, pre-op bloods, hospital stay, anaesthetist, drains, garments, medications, transfers, translator, and UK aftercare contact.

How do I prepare for surgery?

We provide a pre-surgery checklist covering blood tests, medications, fasting, and travel. Your health and medication are reviewed before anaesthesia.

Can I have plastic surgery if I still have a high BMI?

Yes, but we plan carefully for safety and may stage surgeries over time to reduce risk.

What aftercare is provided once I’m home?

You’ll have lifetime WhatsApp contact, wound support, and optional UK nurse reviews. Full written aftercare guidance is provided.

Are my results permanent?

Yes — as long as your weight remains stable and you maintain good nutrition and hydration. Scars and results continue to refine during the first year.
